Love words? Come along to the monthly night of words, shared spoken and sung, at Lawrence Batley Theatre!

Wed 29 January - We will be joined by Aamina Khan who is a published spoken word artist from Halifax, West Yorkshire. 

Wed 26 February - Previously performing as BigCharlie poet, Charlie Hart is a poet and performer originally from Bradford now based in Morecambe. His poem “It’s The Grit That Makes The Pearl” (which features in his first pamphlet) was chosen as the debut Guardian Witness blog’s Spoken Word poem of the week in 2014. 

Wed 26 March - Our guest will be Shak who has produced over 50 poetry videos with the community. He has curated sold out poetry events in the West Midlands, and performed at esteemed platforms such as So Far Sounds, We Out Here Festival, Commonwealth Games festival & Queensland National poetry slam.

Wed 30 April - From sharp and satirical to funny, frank and furious, The 4 Johns are Mike Watts, Peter Knaggs, Matt Nicholson and Jim Higo, and they bring their unique blend of worldly words, all the way from The City of Hull, to a poetry stage near you…
