For ages 6-16, our Young Company classes run weekly during term time.

Our classes are relaxed and welcoming, giving young people an all round creative experience.

Through drama games, storytelling, and performance, young people will gain theatre skills while also building confidence, teamwork, and key communication skills. No uniform needed, just comfy clothes to move around in.

Young Company places are limited to 20 young people per group and fill up fast, so we recommend signing up before the term begins. If there’s space, we may be able to welcome new members after the term has started.

Registration is now open for our Young Company Summer term!

Term dates

Spring and Autumn terms run for 10 weeks, while Summer runs for 12 weeks, leading to a collaborative sharing for family and friends at the end of term.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I have paid for my membership, what happens next?

Memberships should be purchased in the adults name. Once you have made payment for your Young Company membership you will receive a welcome email containing term dates, theatre trip details and a registration form. The registration form must be completed before the start of term. You will receive your welcome email 24 hours after registering.

When can my child join young company?

Young people are welcome to join from age 6+. We encourage joining Young Company at the start of term, however if there is space we can consider taking young people once the term has started.

Are there performance opportunities?

In the Spring and Autumn, young people work towards an informal sharing in the same space that they have their rehearsals. In the Summer, the young people come together from across Young Company for an end of term collaborative performance.

What is the cost?

£60 - £108. We are committed to ensuring the price to participate remains affordable. We offer Kirklees passport discount, the option to pay in instalments and bursary places (the cost changes dependant on the length of the term).

Is there a uniform?

No. We would advise wearing something that is comfortable to move around in.
