The Big Give Christmas Challenge 2023

We’re taking part in The Big Give Christmas Challenge to raise money for our Christmas Heroes appeal.

This year for the very first time we are taking part in The Big Give Christmas Challenge, the UK's biggest match funding campaign.

For one week only from noon on Tuesday 28 November - noon on Tuesday 5 December, your donation to our Christmas Heroes appeal can have twice the impact. Every donation made to our appeal via our Big Give page will be doubled, up to £2,000. This means that for every £1 you give, we will receive £2 towards our Christmas Heroes appeal.

Christmas Heroes raises money to bring the magic of pantomime to children and their families from across Kirklees, who otherwise may not be able to visit us. For every £19 we raise, we can bring one person to see our festive family Pantomime, Cinderella, with a VIP ticket, a programme, and an ice cream.

What is match funding?

Match funding is when a person, business or funder matches donations. We have £2,000 in match funding for our campaign, generously pledged by The Reed Foundation, Sheards Accountants, Val Javin, and other individual supporters of Lawrence Batley Theatre. This £2,000 will be used to double donations during our week-long Big Give Christmas Challenge.

How and when can I donate?

You can donate on our Big Give page from noon on Tuesday 28 November – noon on Tuesday 5 December. During this time, all donations will be doubled until the £2,000 match funding runs out. During the Big Give Christmas Challenge week, the donate button will appear on our Big Give page.

You can donate to the Christmas Heroes appeal year-round on our website; however, your donation will only be doubled by donating on our Big Give page during The Big Give Christmas Challenge week.
