Sharing Stories, Standing Strong
We're teaming up with Kirklees Libraries to take art to the peopleTogether with Kirklees Libraries we're starting a brand new project in our local area to improve health and wellbeing by taking art to the people.
In our new project; Sharing Stories, Standing Strong, we're taking a team of multi-disciplinary artists out into some Kirklees Libraries to work with our communities. The artists will connect with local residents over a few months to collaboratively create a new artwork, inspired by their stories.
The artists will work with residents in Ashbrow, Batley, Birkby, Dewsbury, Rawthorpe and Ravensthorpe.
A Cultural Champions scheme will support library users to also come along to see shows at our theatre. And later, they will have the opportunity to become an advocate in their local community.
We are so grateful to Arts Council England for funding Sharing Stories, Standing Strong.
