Sharing Stories, Standing Strong Review

From January to June 2023, Lawrence Batley Theatre and Kirklees Libraries delivered Sharing Stories Standing Strong, a project funded by Arts Council England.

This project saw a range of multi-disciplinary artists entering libraries across Kirklees to work on their own practice, engage with local community members, and explore how we can creatively share our own stories.

During this project we:
- worked alongside 7 artists in 6 libraries
- completed 98 visits to libraries
- undertook 1,181 engagements with participants
- engaged with community members aged between 1-98
- delivered 5 skill share sessions for library and theatre staff
- held a final sharing event, which saw 70 community members attend from across Kirklees
