Share your story and help us celebrate the past 30 years
2024 October 25This year Lawrence Batley Theatre turned 30 and we want to continue the celebrations with your stories and memories.
As we reached this milestone birthday, we have been reflecting on what makes our theatre so special and how it has been built, how it has grown and how it has flourished because of all the people who have played a part in our story over the years.
Our 30th birthday celebrations have included our Theatre30 exhibition which features portraits, captured by local professional photographer Daniel Johnson Gray. The exhibition, which is currently running in our Gallery, features people who have all got a significant connection to the theatre from anytime over the past 30 years. It is a celebration of the theatre’s history and shared stories of why the theatre holds a special place in their hearts.
We have enjoyed hearing these unique, diverse and heartwarming stories so much and we would love to hear more personal stories from you.
Did you come to your first pantomime as a child and now you visit with your own family? Was there a show that you saw here that was so magical, you won’t ever forget the experience? Were you part of one of our community productions and want to share what this meant to you? Have you worked for the theatre in the past and have a good story to tell?
Whether you were an audience member, a performer, a staff member, or a volunteer, we would love you to share these memories with us. And if you have any photos of your experience(s) we would also love to see these.
The Theatre has always been part of the community, and we want to celebrate those who have been with us on our journey and to inspire the next generation to become part of our community and build their own memories too.
