Garden Club is looking for new members

Green-fingered or not; come and join us. Everyone is welcome!

Here at Lawrence Batley Theatre, we know all about the power of creativity and community. So, it is our pleasure to introduce our new series of wellbeing-focused workshops with support from Kirklees Council’s Community Plus Fund.

In the first series of workshops we are thrilled to be partnering with friends at local charity Support 2 Recovery to create our very own Courtyard garden. That will be beautified with planters, window boxes, trees, flowers and all that good stuff.

In line with our green initiative, where we are supporting Kirklees Council's objective to become Carbon Neutral by 2038, we are working mostly with recycled or repurposed materials to create our new garden. Pallets are becoming planters and plastic waste is being turned into sculptures!

This is first and foremost in preparation for our outdoor Summer Season of shows, live music and activities. But, of course, we want to keep the space growing and flowering for years to come.

Join In

Garden club is running from 11am until 3pm every Wednesday until the end of August at the Lawrence Batley Theatre. Come along to meet with friends on our Wellbeing Wednesdays and enjoy coffee and cake in our welcoming Café-Bar (Open from 12pm until 5pm). Offers include £4 coffee and cake deal, 50% off freshly stone-baked pizza and loyalty cards for hot drinks.
