As December fast approaches, we’re excited to launch our 2024 Christmas Heroes appeal! Every year, this special initiative helps us bring hundreds of local children and their families to experience the joy of live theatre. For many children, pantomime is their first ever theatre experience, and with your help, we can make sure even more children enjoy this magical tradition!
Last year, thanks to the generosity of local businesses and people like you, we were able to invite so many children and families to see our pantomime, Cinderella. Partnering with local charities and community organisations, we were able to ensure that these families experienced a festive treat they’ll never forget. With one community leader, Natalia Mirkun from the Ukrainian Friendship Group, sharing her thanks:

Let’s Make 2024 the Best Year Yet
This year, we’re hoping to make an even bigger impact by reaching our biggest target yet of £15,000. With your support, this will allow us to bring 800 local children and families to our 2024 Christmas pantomime, Dick Whittington. The purr-fect family adventure, Dick Whittington has a hiss-terical script and is filled with lots of toe-tapping mew-sical numbers and spellbinding effects.

Your donation can help create this special memory for children and their families in our community who might not otherwise have the chance to attend the theatre.
For every £19 we raise, we can bring one child to the theatre, complete with a VIP ticket, show programme, and a free ice cream. Your donation can help give them the full theatre experience – an unforgettable gift during the festive season.

You can donate online, at our Box Office, or by cheque (made out to Lawrence Batley Theatre with “Christmas Heroes” in the memo).
We are raising funds so we can bring children and their families to experience the joy of theatre over the festive season. If we have donations left after the appeal, we will use your donations to support other areas of our charitable work.
