Pay What You Decide
Lawrence Batley Theatre
Henry Raby, Laura Taylor

Join us for an evening of spoken word, music and theatre in the cosy warmth of Queenie’s Coffee Shop. Each night features special guests and a chance to take part in our open mic.

Our May Coffee House Night features:

Laura Taylor is a regular performer at festivals, gigs and fundraisers and had her first collection published by Flapjack Press in 2016, with a foreword by Attila the Stockbroker, "She is riveting, inspiring, dead hard and incredibly soft at the same time."

Henry Raby is a York-based performance poet, playwright and Artistic Director of spoken word organisation Say Owt. His sharp punk poetry claws away at injustice whilst celebrating community and solidarity. Henry’s poetry collection, Nerd Punk, explores growing up, activism and subverting geekdom. Imagine The Clash’s Joe Strummer wielding a lightsabre.

If you would like to take part in our open mic please email coffeehousenights@thelbt.org

Tickets are on a pay what you decide basis. All monies go directly to the artists performing. Advance booking is recommended.
