Join us for an evening of spoken word, music and theatre in the cosy warmth of Queenie’s Coffee Shop. Each night features special guests and a chance to take part in our open mic.

Our April Coffee House Night features:

Inspired by the Gujarati Writers Forum, The Yorkshire Dialect Group and local poets, the Batley Poets first assembled at the Batley Festival in 2012 and have since gathered a growing number of local poets to share the words and sentences that would otherwise have gone unnoticed.

Before his current solo singer/songwriter work, Nigel Parsons performed in bands at many iconic venues; Cavern Club, Wigan Casino, Radio 1 broadcasts, supporting bands as diverse as: The Hollies, Arthur Brown, Dire Straits. His songs cover many subjects: The day after Brexit, Woody Guthrie's new year's resolutions, beachcombing ... His new album Sinistralman is scheduled for release later this year.

If you would like to take part in our open mic please email coffeehousenights@thelbt.org

Tickets are on a pay what you decide basis. All monies go directly to the artists performing.
